The Foundation
The Jacint Verdaguer Foundation is a private, non-profit organisation headquartered at the Verdaguer House Museum which conserves, researches, promotes and disseminates the poet’s tangible and intangible heritage.
It is organised by a board which is presided over by the mayor of Folgueroles, and it is managed by a professional technical team which undergoes ongoing training.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to conserve, research, promote and disseminate the tangible and intangible heritage generated by Jacint Verdaguer. Therefore, it showcases the importance of tradition and languages and focuses on social media resources to promote the symbolic value of Verdaguer around the world.
The Jacint Verdaguer Foundation works in the following strategic avenues: education, tourism, research, exhibitions, publications and creation.
Networking
The Foundation works closely with the museums in the county of Osona and the province of Barcelona, and with large national museums, such as the History Museum of Barcelona (MUHBA) and the History Museum of Catalonia (MHC).
It is also a member of the Network of Local Museums (regional network affiliated with the Barcelona Provincial Council), the Museum Advisory Council of Osona, the Network of History Museums and Monuments of Catalonia (XMHCat), Espais escrits – Network of the Catalan Literary Heritage, and the Rural Heritage Network – Wheat Eco-Museum.
Likewise, the Foundation also works within an agreement with the MUHBA to manage the Verdaguer House of Literature in the Vil·la Joana estate in Vallvidrera.
